QDB has the mandate of Small & Medium Enterprise Development in the state of Qatar
Through its various programs, QDB endeavors to create an ‘enabling environment’ for larger number of business to be started and grown to become medium and large sized businesses
QDB has also launched sector focused programs to develop high value-adding activities (like manufacturing) within the overall value chain for the sector

QDB has launched a government subsidy program ‘Jahiz-2’ for provision of subsidized land for Food & Beverage (F&B) manufacturing
Under the program, 14 businesses will be allotted land parcels of about 1800 SQM foot print and total built-up area of about 2230 SQM at subsidized rates of QAR 5 per SQM
QDB has mandated various consultants to review select number of cases to rank and select the 14 cases out of applicant pool of more than 80 cases

20 F&B manufacturing business proposals were appraised and relevant project risks, critical success factor and overall business appraisal ratings were provided to QDB for final selection of 14 successful applicants under Jahiz-2 program.
